PWInsider reports that Triple H’s new goal in WWE is to revamp the tag team division. As the head of WWE’s talent development program, The Game has a lot of influence over who gets signed to contracts and featured on TV, and producing the “coming soon” videos for debuting talent, like we saw with Sin Cara and Karma.
HHH wants to sign tag teams from other promotions, namely ROH’s Kings Of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli), and TNA’s Beer Money (James Storm and Robert Roode). Robert Roode in particular has gotten good reviews from WWE higher-ups in the past, drawing comparisons to the late Curt Hennig.
WWE has been considering Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli for years now, and the two had a tryout earlier this year that went well. Triple H reportedly wants to introduce the two as a tag team directly to the WWE TV audience, bypassing the developmental system.
